Latvian Certified Translation Services

Certified Latvian Translation Services

Unlike most countries, the UK does not offer one official translation certification system. We do not have sworn translators, for example. Instead, linguists who are serious about the services they provide, become members of professional bodies which, in turn, certify the quality of their work.

The Institute of Translation and Interpreting is one of the best known and respected of such bodies. Qualified Members attain their status not only by paying a membership fee (which is steep, I should add), but, first, by meeting certain criteria – years of experience, volume of work done, references from clients provided, and, second, passing an exam. Once a linguist becomes a member, he or she has to maintain this membership via continuous development and, of course, annual membership fee.

As a Qualified Member of ITI (or MITI), I can offer an ITI stamp to certify the translation has been done by a MITI.

Some of the documents that might require such a stamp:

  • Personal and ID Documents
  • Certificates
  • Contracts
  • Receipts
  • Statements and Declarations
